Wee, the people
Our so-called leaders have put our grandchildren in debt to prosecute a war that was embarked upon for patently false reasons. That war and subsequent occupation have gone even worse than almost anyone feared. It has cost more American lives than 9/11. It has inflicted physical and psychic wounds upon tens of thousands of more of our countrymen -- including ourselves, if we are paying any sort of attention. But compared to theIraqi people, Americans have gotten off easily. A recent estimate says that over a million Iraqis have paid with their lives for the ersatz liberation brought to them by this war and occupation.
