I hope that the recent surge of posts will hold you for today. This morning we awoke to a stark reminder that the time has come to gird for winter. The first hard frost of the year brought a new beauty to the meadow. A few days of rain and wind seemed to take most of the crimson maples from the skyline. The clearly visible moon in a bright blue morning sky added interesting accent to the frosty field and foliage.

And so I must roll up hoses, grind up leaves for the compost heap, get the firewood pile squared away and tarped and take care of a any number of other tasks that will present themselves. So I'll just post some pictures of Lettie and Lu in their first frost and promise to get back to you when I have done enough chores to appease my conscience.
